I didnt know E. Lynn Harris personally, but I felt like I knew him through his books. I just most recently became a fan after I read, "I say a little prayer." I just cant believe that he has left this world. I miss terribly, I guess the only way i can feel connected to him is by reading his books. You will always have a fan in me. I love you E. Lynn, and you are and will be missed forever.

A Poem for E. Lynn by Trevy A. McDonald July 25, 2009 A gentle smile A gentler spirit He had a story to tell A generous heart Right from the start He had a story to tell Cocooned in the coziness of corporate America He left his comfort zone because He had a story to tell A story sure to Awaken hearts Enlighten minds And heal multitudes across the globe He HAD to tell his story So he stepped out on faith Did things himself and shared his story From the trunk of his car And as his story Awakened hearts Enlightened minds And healed multitudes Others took note So he continued to tell his stories Across America Throughout the world Stories that touched many Healing lives Feeding spirits Soothing souls And most of all inspiring others Of all genders And all ethnicities To tell their story too And so he left an indelible mark Not only on the minds of his readers But through telling his stories Doors were opened for others That didn’t exist before He shared His spotlight with many Friends and fans alike But most of all aspiring writers Through his generous heart Lives were transformed Through his gentle and generous spirit Dreams were realized And through his gentle smile Everyone always felt welcome Thank you E. Lynn for telling your story And sharing it with the world You’ve left an amazing legacy

You are sorely missed. I will always remember that day in Carlton's kitchen when you said I have something to give you. You came back with a copy of a first edition of "Invisible Life". I was so honored that you gave me a copy of it. I read it the next day and felt like I was reading about my life. I am honored to have met you before the world did. We will miss you always

Comments: E Lynn: I have shed so many tears, I can almost hear your voice saying, "Victoria, you better stop all that crying and get to writing." My heart is so broken. You were such a wonderful friend, one of my dearest and I miss you so much already. But, I'm thinking about all the times we laughed, all the times I threatened to bring every guy I dated to meet you, all the times we cracked up about the NAACP incident. And, I remember all the times that we got to say, "I love you," to each other. That is what keeps me smiling, E. Lynn...that your last words to me were, "I love you," and mine to you were, "I love you, too." I KNOW how much you loved the Lord, so just rest in His arms, my dear friend. Rest and know that you impacted hundreds of thousands of people in such a positive way. No one can ask for anything more. I love you, Lynn!

You know you never know what impact a person has on you until they are gone. As with most of us, I didn't know him personally but it felt as though I did through his writings. He said a lot of the things we were feeling. I know his books helped me deal with some things I was personally going through...especially his book What becomes of the Brokenhearted. Never has an author made me drop everything and read a book in one sitting. Rest well...you will be truly missed...

Comments: I stunned and deeply saddened by your passing. It is hard for me to believe, because you were just on face book, sounding so happy, and full of life, specifically your last post: OK FB family send prayers up. I'm off to my meeting with one of Hollywood's most powerful ladies. Got the suit on and the new scent I purchase yesterday and I'm ready for my close up. I just knew that Hollywood had finally taken notice of your books, and a movie was in the works. It is unfortunate, that we will not get that opportunity. However, I am grateful for the time we had you and your gift. Thank you for inspiring people (who normally don't read books)to read. You will be sorely missed.

Comments: Where do I start, although I didn't know you personally, I felt as if I knew you through your work. Your books were so different from anything I had ever read and you exposed a genre that I didn't even know existed at the time. I so enjoyed reading your work and learned so much from every book that I simply couldn't put them down.
I know that your family and friends knew you best and you were more than a great author, you were a Son, a friend, and so much more to others but to me you were an inspiration and you will truly be missed.
